I am an uncle... again!

My dear mother, God bless her, has just left a voicemail on my phone to let me know that my brother Guy and his wife have just gotten a little baby girl !!! Hurray !!! I don't know her name yet, but I am working on that. She's my 18th nephew/niece... I have a prolific family, as you can see. I am ecstatic!

Hello Ali, Congrats on becoming an Uncle again. I would love to have been part of a large family but have heard many of those with large families say having lots of relatives is not so great. I can imagine the downside but would still love to be an Auntie to 18 instead of just two (I only have a brother). Imagine watching them all grown up, with their own families, all together in one gathering - which I guess would probably only happen on important dates like weddings, funerals, etc. I'd need to have a special savings budget set aside for 18 birthdays and 18 Christmas stocking fillers ... guess you'd better start saving NOW for number 18 ... heh .... that is what Uncles and Aunties are for you know :)

Thanks Ingrid,
And yes, it is a bit money consuming, but we get used to it. The only downside, really, comes from the fact that I am the youngest of my siblings... so my eldest DIRECT niece is actually 2 years older than me! But it's cool anyway. But living in the US, I wouldn't want such a big family. WAAAAY too expensive!
