It is rather interesting to see through the beginings of a project that you care about deeply... This new gig of mine will definitely be fun.
In the mean time, I haven't had the chance (or the time) to write in my political/news blog, but I am working on organizaing my time around that. I should be receiving my laptop tomorrow (inchallah), and hopefully I will be able to balance that, with having a life... I wonder...
Pictures soon!

Hi Ali,
Your fans over at the Salon of News and Thought certainly hope that you begin to post again regularly. Carine is of course doing a good job of covering your back while you have been away.
I found this blog by accident actually, not knowing that you were the author. Good to know that you are O.K. and have a hot new notebook computer. It's also good to hear that you have gotten over the depression of being both Black and Muslim in America. I'm sure that you will prevail and that everybody who gets to know you will learn a lot.
After you finsih that really tough stint in the States try coming to Germany and making a go at it as an educated African immigrant from the Congo. You want to see what a hard time is all about, come here or emmigrate to any other European country. You don't have to worry about being a Muslim, being a Black African will be tough enough. White Africans (South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe) are treated a bit differently in most parts of Europe, mind you. Muslims are feared and despised by much of the population here, but not openly as that goes against the image that Europeans are generally trying to project.
Good Luck with the new Plowshares project, it sounds really interestig.
Hi, just browsing through. Would like to hear your thoughts on the political and social environs in the U.S. right now. I'm an american living in Korea right now, I'd be very interested in your perspective. catch you around.
Alex
